Welcome at Airfield Eisenach- Kindel
located in the center of Germany and Europe
The Traffic Airfield Eisenach-Kindel is located in the center of Germany and Europe. At the beginning of the nineties the former Russian military airfield was converted to a civil traffic airfield class 1 due to pressure of communal politics.
Airplanes up to 20t MTOW, helicopter and other air sports equipment are approved to use this airfield which indicates this airfield as a platform for nearly all air transportation divisions of general aviation. The airfield is used for business and cargo flights as well as flight school, sky dives and other private leisure flights.
Lots of schools for engine powered flights, microlite flights and sky diving as well as an aerospace company for business and cargo, a permanent exhibition of aviation, producer of aircrafts and several clubs are located at the airfield.
Due to the central location, optimal connections in between the cities along the motorway 4 and a well-developed infrastructure the airfield has become a highly attractive location for competitions of aviation, exhibitions and car events.
The airfield is located directly in the world heritage region Wartburg Hainich. This region attracts people due to the untouched nature of the Thuringian Forests and the national park Hainich as well as numerous cultural and historic buildings, e.g. the Wartburg in Eisenach.
This region is one of the most economical regions in Thuringia and famous for its car industry and supplier companies.
